Metal Hammer Artical! 07/03/2009 - Battle 4 Bloodstock Voting Criteria + Final! more >> A note about the Batle 4 Bloodstock voting criteria, THIS IS NOT A POPULARITY CONTEST! 1)PROFESSIONALISM Starts at first contact and includes promotion, recording quality ect. 2) GIG DAY Punctuality, sound check ect. 3) ON STAGE Ability, stage presence ect. 4) THE HONESTY BOX!!! The bands each say who they thought was the best on the day 5) THE CROWD VOTE Speaks for it's self, one form per person on the night, so loads of forms all written with the same hand writing with only one band name on DON'T COUNT!! There may be up to 10 independent judges on the night all with the same marking criteria. So if you hear someone cry out "it's a fix!" or whatever, it most likely comes from bitterness or jealousy. The heats are going really well and the final decision on who wins will go to a representative from Bloodstock!  24/02/2009 - Recession Sessions more >>  15/02/2009 - Battle 4 Bloodstock Heats more >> Retribution is pleased to announce that the Bloodstock "Metal 2 The Masses" Initiative is joining forces with Wacken Open Air's "Metal Battle" Campaign and in doing so we'll be offering the best Unsigned Metal Act that the UK has to offer. As you know the band that wins Retribution's final will go on to play Bloodstock open air this year, in addition to this: All bands that appear at this years Bloodstock Open Air will be viewed at the festival and the winning band will to go on and play at Wacken 2010. There they will be playing alongside bands that have won their slots from the following countries....... Sorry to disappoint all those who have inquired but if you came to us for your New Year celebration we would want to put on a huge show and give you an awesome time, in the current climate we couldn't guarantee that. As of May 2008 Leicester Square Venue have decided they’d like to promote their own Saturday night therefore Retribution will be moving. This is your rock night, your scene, your culture. The people who make it happen, all the DJs, management and bar staff who have always been with us since Oxygen/ Sector 5 will be moving with us. Please be aware that there is no link between this and what happened to Panic. It’s an unfortunate coincidence, the Panic DJs chose to leave Leicester Square, Retribution hasn’t been given a choice.
